The Logistics and Nearshoring Forum was held
"The tertiary sector represents 55% of the GDP, commerce 22% and the rest are services, of that rest nine percent is logistics, mail, courier, transportation and employs more than 15,000 people, in addition to the important value added by those companies that have foreign trade," he said.

He added that the challenges of logistics are to be more efficient in short distances due to the fact that companies are looking for the merchandise to arrive on time in an efficient and complete way.

He commented on the importance of guaranteeing logistics security with the delivery of products in the time and quantity needed.

"For that we are making many efforts to improve the logistics of the state (...), another element that we are requesting not only for service providers but also for companies is the International Airport of Queretaro", detailed the state official.

He mentioned that from January to April of this year, the Intercontinental Airport of Queretaro (AIQ) moved 25 thousand tons of cargo with an average of more than 6 thousand tons per month and estimated that by the end of the year it will reach 78 thousand tons of cargo, 11% more than in 2022.

In his participation, Alberto Ruiz Rioja, consultant and professor in Foreign Trade and International Taxation, highlighted the new logistics corridors or the development pole, as a fiscal and administrative boost to the industry.

He considered that the tax authorities need to rethink their relationship with the industry and that companies:

"They need to rethink the importance of the legal and administrative issue (...), they have neglected in most cases fiscal, legal and administrative security," he maintained.

Edgar Pereda Chávez, president and CEO of Wisdom Digital Logistics, added that the digitization of the production processes within the supply chain becomes relevant due to the fiscal risks, where, he said, the logistics operator is the one who can contain them.

"Contain it or make a strategic partner for (...), in that way with the systems both processes and systems we make sure that we are covering the fiscal parts and help manufacturing companies or even service companies," he said.

He indicated that in the case of nearshoring, Mexico has the challenge of demonstrating its infrastructure capacity, talent and the support of private and public industry.
