Vehicle production in Mexico to grow in the first quarter of 2023

According to the Administrative Registry of the Automotive Industry for Light Vehicles (RAIAVL), during the January-March 2023 period, 922,177 light vehicles were produced in Mexico, which represented an increase of 8.61 % compared to the same period in 2022.

Likewise, in March of this year, the production of light vehicles was 346,124 units, which represented an increase of 13.12 % compared to the same month of 2022 when 305,976 units were produced.

It should be noted that light trucks accounted for 77.2 % of total production, while the rest corresponded to the manufacture of automobiles.


Exports of light vehicles

In the January-March 2023 period, 741,306 units were exported in Mexico, which represented an increase of 8.86 % compared to the same period in 2022 when 680,992 units were exported.

In March 2023 alone, 272,687 light vehicles were exported, an increase of 3.88 % compared to March 2022 when 262,494 units were exported.

Likewise, in March 2023, 118,801 units were sold in the domestic market, which represented a 24.8 % variation with respect to the same month of 2022. Likewise, during January-March 2023, 315,126 light vehicles were sold, an increase of 24.37 % compared to the same month last year.
