Investment of $12,000 million in the automotive industry through nearshoring
Sedeco owner Fadlala Akabani explained that the strategy known as "nearshoring" has found a privileged space in Mexico City and in the urban area, where the automotive industry is one of the most important due to its size and the volumes of value it generates, ya que existen 40 empresas de ese sector provenientes de Europa, Estados Unidos y China que están interesadas en instalarse en la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México.

"The sum of Sedeco's and ClautMéxico's efforts has the potential to attract at least $12,000 million from the automotive sector over the next five years. Our territory stretches over 22,000 kilometers and includes borders with two states, where there is potential to set up large plants. The city will welcome companies in four main centers: Reforma, Santa Fe, Insurgentes y Avenida Chapultepec", he declared.

Mr. Akabani indicated that Sedeco would be the dependency in charge of receiving interested companies, while ClautMéxico would be the organization linking companies with production zones, industrial parks and nearby sectors, with the aim of encouraging the arrival of foreign investment, creating jobs and improving living conditions for citizens.

For her part, ClautMéxico's Executive President, Elisa Crespo Ferrer, affirmed that the metropolitan area is a strategic zone, as Mexico City has 154 economic units dedicated to automobile manufacturing, employing 31,800 people, with the production of autoparts being the main activity.
