USA: Latest Data Available
The United States is a strong market of interest for Italian and international companies operating in the mechanical engineering sector. According to forecasts by the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, U.S. manufacturing output is expected to increase by 2.5 percent in 2018 and 2019 generating growth in demand and capital goods investment by U.S. companies.

In terms of foreign trade, in the 15 instrumental mechanics sectors manned by the Machines Italia desk observatory, which range from packaging to robotics, Italian firms rank seventh in the ranking of major U.S. suppliers, with exports of about 3 billion euros in 2017. In the first nine months of 2018, Italian firms posted an extremely positive result, namely a 12.07 percent growth in exports worth 2.5 billion euros.
