The Italian Technology Awards Return
The 2017 edition of the "Italian Technology Awards" (ITA) was held from Nov. 5-12 by LIUC Libera Università Cattaneo in Castellanza.
ITAs are awards that are given to foreign undergraduate or graduate students in technical disciplines, following special competitions based on the submission of papers on topics related to the use of manufacturing technologies in specific sectors.
This is a training and communication/image action in favor of Italian technologies organized by ICE - Agency in collaboration with Federmacchine and aimed at the dissemination and knowledge of Italian production among those who will be the future managers of foreign companies and, as such, potential buyers and users of Made in Italy production systems.
This year's edition was attended by delegations of students and teachers, more than 70, from University Centers in various countries (Peru, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam) and from North America (about 30).

As usual, the week-long trip-prize in Italy was divided into a first "common" part for all students, with a cross-training program, organized by LIUC, which was followed by a second part in which students were divided into sectoral groups to follow the company visit and training programs organized by the individual Machines Italia trade associations participating in the initiative: AMAPLAST (plastic and rubber processing machines),ACIMIT (textile machines), ASSOMAC (tannery and leather machines), GIMAV (glass processing machines), UCIMA (packaging and packing machines), UCIMU (metal processing machines).
The Technology Awards certainly represent an innovative approach to the promotion of the instrumental mechanics sector, structured in a medium- and long-term perspective that aims at the formation and consolidation of a technological "culture" based on the characteristics of the made-in-Italy not only production, but also managerial, sector.
