The Revival of Eumaprint Starts From Italy… Through ACIMGA

Milan, May 29th 2012 – Europe's printing and converting industry speaks Italian. Eumaprint, the organization gathering six European trade associations – ACIMGA, AG Graphispack, Picon, Symop, Swissmem, Vdma – has appointed the Italian Manufacturers Association of Machinery for the Graphic, Converting and Paper Industry as administrating body for the two-year period 2012-2014. Felice Rossini, chairman of ACIMGA, will now also hold the office of chairman for Eumaprint.

"I am very proud of this new appointment and the role given to ACIMGA, which we intend to carry out at our best for the revitalization of Eumaprint", says Felice Rossini, the new president recently elected during the meeting held at Drupa 2012.

"Europa is home to the world's most important manufacturers of printing and converting technology. Our role is to uphold quality and technological innovation. We plan to meet the challenge posed by emerging markets with the challenge of top-notch technology", concludes Rossini.

According to Eurostat data, in 2010 the industry output in the EU27 amounted to €9,753 billion. Germany ranks as Europe's first manufacturer, followed by Italy. The output of Eumaprint member countries accounts for 80% of the total (the figure also includes Switzerland).

The agenda of the next meeting, scheduled for October in Italy, includes activities to support Eumaprint's work, including a pan-European economic survey and lobby actions to enforce EU regulations on the safety of imported machinery.
