Nissan-Renault And Mitsubishi Forge A New Global Strategic Alliance
Nissan-Renault and Mitsubishi have announced a new global strategic alliance. As a result of this alliance, which aims to generate more efficient use of available resources, each company will focus on specific regions and markets. While Renault will handle the European market, Mitsubishi will manage Southeast Asian markets and Nissan will focus on the North American region.

Nissan currently has manufacturing plants in both Mexico and the United States and an engineering development facility in the United States.

Under the new strategy, each company will develop a "pilot/mother" vehicle platform that will then be adapted by the other two companies to their target markets.

The strategy will likely increase Nissan's position in North America, particularly in Mexico.
