Bridgeport Srl, an Italian producer of tire valves, weights and other products mainly for the European market, intends to expand its footprint in North America with the opening of a U.S. division, Bridgeport USA L.L.C. Recently the company's subsidiary set up an office and warehouse in Edinboro (PA) to serve its distribution customers in both the U.S. and Canada.

According to a recent TireBusiness.com article, Peter Kraus, Bridgeport USA's vice president for operations was quoted as saying "Bridgeport in Italy has had customers in the U.S. and supplied them directly, but this is the first time Bridgeport has had a presence here in the U.S. directly in order to be a master distributor for those companies."

Bridgeport USA will stock the full line of Bridgeport valves for autos, motorcycles, heavy truck and farm equipment, as well as balance weights, air chucks and related products.  The company plans to increase its sales in the motorcycle, heavy truck, and ag markets.
