Mexico's construction industry goes from strength to strength

May was the second consecutive month in which companies in the construction sector posted good figures. According to the same survey published by theNational Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), the rate of growth in the real value of production was 1.8% in April, compared with an annual average of 7.8%.

These data show that Mexican construction is a solid industry that is collaborating with the country's economic growth, at a time when the economic environment is experiencing periods of uncertainty, which are present both in Mexico and in other countries in the region, and when there is reason to be optimistic about the progress of construction projects.

Other indicators, such as hours worked, rose by 0.4% in May, while the total number of people employed increased by 1.1%, indicating greater activity in construction projects in Mexico. The ENEC results also show that real average earnings rose by 1.6%.

The three main entities that concentrate the highest percentage of total production value distribution by federal entity are Quintana Roo, with 8.8%, Nuevo León, which totals 7.9%, and Mexico City, which totals 4.3%. The entity with the lowest concentration is Tlaxcala, with 0.1% of total medication.
