Ecopol SpA, an Italian company that produces biodegradable PVA film, announced that it will invest more than $38 million in the company’s first North American facility, which will be based south of Atlanta in Spalding County, Georgia. It will also create 130 new jobs. Founded in 2009, Ecopol’s mission was to reduce the use of plastics and carbon emissions by creating water-soluble and biodegradable film to wrap consumer goods.
