Grafitalia and Converflex Announce New Presidents

The organization of Grafitalia and Converflex is now proceeding at full steam in view of the upcoming edition of the two exhibitions, part of the great event taking place in 2015 at Fieramilano.

The presidency of the two exhibitions was confirmed to Vincenzo Boccia for Grafitalia and Simona Michelotti for Converflex - two prominent presidents and leading users of graphic arts and converting technology. Exhibition organizer Centrexpo Spa chose not to renounce the prestige such notable figures will bring to the two exhibitions in 2015 – especially since the next edition of Grafitalia and Coverflex will be a special one: for the first time they will combine graphic arts, printing, communication and paper converting technology into a single event unparalleled anywhere in the world. Seven synergic exhibitions are going to showcase the complete food and non-food supply chain and will include IPACK-IMA as well as its interconnected shows Meat-Tech, Fruitech Innovation, Dairytech and Intralogistica Italia in partnership with Deutsche Messe.

The exhibitions are scheduled to take place from May 19th to 23rd 2015, in conjunction with the Milan Universal Expo.

Vincenzo Boccia is head of the family printing company, active in the industry since over 50 years. He also holds important positions within Confindustria, where he is chairman of the Credit and Finance technical committee. In the past he was national vice-president and president of the Small-size Enterprise association. “Being confirmed as president of Grafitalia has a special value for me” – says Mr. Boccia – “I believe that, having endured the most difficult part of the harshest crisis in recent times, today the Italian graphic industry is ready to capitalize on all its abilities to start growing again and seize the opportunities provided by a profoundly changed market, with the support of technological innovation. Grafitalia” – concludes Mr. Boccia – “will provide products, information and the culture of technology and growth in order to face new market challenges with the necessary resolution”.

Simona Michelotti is CEO at the SIT Group, a market-leading company active in flexible packaging since over forty years and based in the Republic of San Marino with production facilities in Italy. She held prominent positions both in Giflex – an Italian Association that brings together manufacturers of printed flexible packaging using both flexo and rotogravure printing technology– and in San Marino’s National Industrial Association, which she presided until 2009. A president such as Simona Michelotti best represents Converflex’s main industry for her extensive experience in converting, where packaging plays an increasing role as a vehicle for communication and information - including traceability - and requires enhanced quality and integration in printing solutions.

“Converting and paper processing have shown to have the right skills, energy and determination to weather extremely hard times,” says Simona Michelotti. “With the support of new technology solutions on display at Converflex, I believe most companies are now ready to give an adequate response in terms of initiatives and investment to the recently created growth and development opportunities.”
