Ternium Invests $1,000 Million Dollars To Expand Its Industrial Center In Nuevo Leon

In order to increase production of hot rolling, galvanizing and finishing, Ternium confirmed that it will invest $1 billion dollars to expand its Pesqueria Industrial Center in Nuevo Leon. Italian companies that produce metal and manufacturing machinery are a good option as suppliers for this type of company and its industrial sector.

This was confirmed by Máximo Vedoya, CEO of the steel company, who stated that the company is in the final stage of launching a new expansion initiative to increase all its production capacities, which will include a second hot rolling mill, a third galvanizing mill and several finishing lines. He said that given the demand for the products they have, they analyzed that the market also needs valuable products such as cold rolled, pickled and galvanized products, especially for customers in the automotive, household appliance and construction sectors.

This expansion of the center, which began operations in 2013, will be 500,000 tons, in addition there will be a new part this year, which is around 1.5 million tons, and a galvanized line with 500,000 tons.
The steel company, which operates in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, the United States and Central America, obtained profits of 4.3 billion dollars in the fourth quarter of last year, compared to 867 million dollars in the same period of the previous year.
However, Ternium's shipments amounted to 2.8 million tons in the last quarter of 2021, 8% less than in the same period of 2020, mainly as a result of lower steel shipments in Mexico.
