Forage stored in bags or concrete bunkers will often have dry matter and nutrient content that will vary significantly at different points, Nelles adds, depending upon where the sample is taken, making ration balancing approximate guesswork even with laboratory analysis.

The DG precisionFEEDING system, because it is constantly monitoring the feed during loading of the TMR, provides a new degree of accuracy not before possible on the farm.

ESPC expects the Dinamica Generale' precisionFEEDING systems to markedly change the way livestock producers view nutrition management. The systems are now available at Harvestore dealers.

The first US dairy to utilize the technology was Dean Allen's Gar-Lin Dairy in Minnesota.
