EuroGroup Laminations, New $50 Million Plant In Mexico

EuroGroup Laminations, an Italian group engaged in the design, production, and distribution of stators and rotors for electric motors and generators, inaugurated a new production plant in Querétaro with an investment of 50 million euros. This location serves as the headquarters for the subsidiary Eurotranciatura, which, in the first months of 2023, experienced a 33% growth, generating revenues of 198 million euros.

Following an initial commitment to production linked to electric vehicles in 2016, the sustained growth observed in the electric mobility market has prompted EuroGroup Laminations to initiate an additional facility development program. The new plant adds approximately 10 thousand square meters to the existing 21 thousand square meters of production facilities in the country, and production capacity for the automotive and electric vehicle (EV) segments will double in the next two years.

The new Querétaro facility brings the total number of EuroGroup Laminations plants worldwide to 13: seven in Italy, two in Mexico and China, one in the United States, and one in Tunisia. It will also play a crucial role in fulfilling the group's orders in the aforementioned segment, which reached a record figure of 6.4 billion euros in October 2023, according to a company statement.

"We are proud to inaugurate the new Mexican plant in Querétaro, thus strengthening our production capacity for the North American electric vehicle market, which is experiencing rapid growth to fulfill orders already received totaling over 3.5 billion euros to be delivered between 2024 and 2028. We are working on the basis of a growth plan that will allow us to increase production by reducing manufacturing times," commented CEO Marco Arduini (Il Sole 24 Ore).
