The Canadian Manufacturers’ Outlook is a survey conducted, on a yearly basis, by Northstar for PLANT Magazine in partnership with sponsors Grant Thornton LLP, SYSPRO Canada and Machines Italia - Italian Trade Commission. The eighteenth edition of LAMIERA hosted by BolognaFiere May 11-14 the 2016 edition registered a 10% increase in the number of visits (compared to the 2014 edition). Italian Investments Survey

The Italian Trade Commission in Canada, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development and Industry Canada undertook a research project aimed at mapping and surveying the Italian companies operating in the country. Out of a combined database of over 200 subsidiaries, representing 150+ Italian investments, the survey gathered information on approximately 70 companies. For the Italian textile machinery sector, the year’s fourth quarter resulted in a decline in orders, mainly due to a negative performance recorded in foreign sales. These findings have been reported in an economic survey conducted by ACIMIT, the Italian Association representing the industry, indicating a 4% drop over the previous quarter.
