Sirmax Group Opens $30M Plastics Recycling Plant In Anderson

A subsidiary of Italy-based Sirmax Group said its new plastics recycling facility in Anderson is now operational. SER North America said it plans to bring total employment at the $30 million plant to 40 by the end of the year. Plans for the 124,000-square-foot facility were first announced in July 2019. The company said it has already hired 25 employees with the goal of adding 15 more by the end of the year. The facility produces recycled polypropylene out of post-industrial waste. The product will be used in both industrial applications and sent to the adjacent Sirmax North America facility

Pratrivero Nonwovens To Locate In Orangeburg County (South Carolina)

An Italian fabric maker is locating manufacturing operations in Orangeburg County. Pratrivero USA Inc., a division of Pratrivero Nonwovens, is investing $17.6 million and creating 34 new jobs in the former Mayer Industries building at 3777 Industrial Boulevard. Industrial Boulevard is near Interstate 26’s Exit 145. The investment includes $6.5 million in buildings and $11.1 million in machinery and equipment. The index of orders intake for Italian textile machinery, as processed by ACIMIT, the Association of Italian textile machinery manufacturers, for the period ranging from April-June 2021, was up 214% compared to the same 2020 period.
