Machines Italia Promotes Italian Automotive Technology at the APMA Conference in Windsor

As follow up to a Canadian automotive mission to Turin, Italy last May, the Italian Trade Commission via its Machines Italia project and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, along with the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association (APMA) welcomed a delegation of Italian parts and equipment suppliers to Ontario last June 6th  – 10th, 2011.

 

The delegation attended the APMA Annual Conference that took place from June 8th to 9th in Windsor, where Machines Italia was amongst the sponsors. The delegation programs included B2B meetings and visits to key automotive facilities across Ontario (Linamar, Magna, Chrysler and others)

 

The participating Italian companies included:

 

INGLASS

Inglass is a world leader in tooling and hot runner systems.  It was the first company to develop an integrated system comprising mold, hot runner system and process control unit capable of producing large fault-free polycarbonate molded surfaces.  The HRS Flow division deals with the design and production of hot runner systems covering the whole field of plastic injected components.

 

MA S.p.a., a company of CLN GROUP

MA is one of the world’s premier automotive metal forming suppliers, producing upper and lower body structures, inner and outer door panels, doors and lid systems and provides an extensive range of engineering solutions for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.  They have 20 plants in 9 countries (including JV plants.)

 

PRIMA INDUSTRIE

Prima Power is a global supplier of lasers and laser manufacturing systems used in a broad range of applications including aerospace, automotive, military, medical, appliance and general manufacturing.  For over 30 years the company has been a leading supplier to industry worldwide for both 2D and 3D laser systems and processes.

 

CO.MEC/CO.MEC USA

CO.MEC. produces precision metal components made by sheet metal stamping, forming, fine blanking and deep-drawn.  Our production application is precision metal inserts for oil and shaft seals, housing for electrical motors, fine blanking automotive components. CO.MEC. USA developed with a US partner an innovative trailer hitch for the consumer, industrial and military automotive market.  CO.MEC. has a turnover of 11 M EURO and an export quota of 30%. CO.MEC. USA was founded in 2007 in Michigan, USA to develop the North American market. The Quality System is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949: 2002 certified.

 

SELMAT AUTOMOTIVE

Selmat supplies interior and exterior plastic components.  Their production technologies include thermoplastic injection, polyurethane injection, vacuum forming, and compression forming and composites materials.  They produce a large range of components (bumpers, hoods, fenders, plastic windows, cabin floors, door panes, dashboards) for very different applications and customers:  from agricultural vehicles to commercial vehicles to cars.

 

STEP Automotive Engineering SpA

STEP is a design company specializing in automotive, starting from product concept to 3D mathematical style to the realization of the mathematical design details.

 

2A SpA – Foundry Division

2A was born in 1974 as a small zamak die-casting foundry integrated in the zippers production department of the mother company: roughly ten years later, the company started to sell its own casting technology to the national automotive industry and to Telecom and computer application. In order to follow the growing Customers demand, whom where asking for bigger parts made by aluminium alloys, in 1989 2A bought 4 different foundries and consolidated them.  Today, 2A is the first aluminium die-casting foundry in its region and owns the biggest existing die-casting press worldwide and starts to have a global presence.

 

IMATEG ’93 Srl

Imateg93 is an historic leader in the Italian rubber moulding industry, formerly named TORGOMMA SPA, then IMATEG93 since 1993. We produce rubber-moulded items for the household appliance sector (with products such as anti-vibration supports, caps and plugs), and have also been increasingly supplying the automotive sector (grommets, gaskets, bonnets, bellows). To complete our product range we manufacture various parts, such as screw anchors, membranes, impellers, rubber pads and joints

 

ZADI Spa

Our company provides the highest level of locking systems for motorcycle, RV and recreational vehicles. They involve mechanical systems as well as electromechanical and electronic ones. The company also provide lighting systems, including the Xenon and front Led technology.

 

Texa

Texa is an established manufacturers of diagnostic and testing equipment for exhaust/emission gases, air conditioning, and on board electric and electronic systems. Texa's products range from portable multipurpose testing/diagnostic stations to wireless diagnostic interfaces. Specific devices for motor bicycles, heavy equipment and boats testing and diagnostics are also available.
