2015 EmTech Conference
The Italian Trade Agency-Chicago - via its Offices in Chicago and Rome, Italy is partnering with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (www.mit.edu) and its publication MIT Technology Review Magazine for the University’s EmTech Conference program. This year’s conference takes place November 2-4, 2015 at the MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
As the conference activities have identified the most important new technologies and deciphering their practical impact on the global manufacturing marketplace, the Italian Trade Agency, together with Italy’s FEDERMACCHINE is bringing a number of its thought leadership experts on new manufacturing process to the conference with panel discussions and keynote speaking engagements. Since 1999 the EmTech Conference has gathered the leading experts in the areas of technology, engineering, academic, startup, and management communities to provide insight into the innovations that shape the world and global business.
On the second day of the conference, November 3, 2015, the ITA will be presenting at 11:30 AM the session, "Advanced Manufacturing: A View From Italy" Italy amongst us! Get to know the leading institutions, both public and private, that are shaping and preparing the journey of one of the world's leading economies for the next generation of advanced manufacturing. This segment with be with Ms. Kathleen Kennedy, President of MIT Technology Review and Dr. Alberto Maria Sacchi, Board Member and Past President, FEDERMACCHINE and Dr. Maurizio Forte, Executive Director, US, Italian Trade Agency
The ITA is sponsoring the main luncheon and presentation which is entitled, "Robots Among Us. Discover how the country more famous for the "Three Fs"—food, fashion, and fast cars—is among the heaviest and earliest adopters of robotics and automation in its advanced-manufacturing-driven economy". This presentation will also be moderated by Ms. Kathleen Kennedy, who will present Engineer Arturo Baroncelli, Business Development Manager, of Comau Robotics and recipient of the 2005 Engelberger Prize. Engineer Baroncelli will present on the future of automation and robotics in next generation manufacturing.
