The Association of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers at its annual show, AWFS Fair 2011 (July 20-23, 2011) in Las Vegas announced the 2011 recipients of its AWFS Fair Sequoia New Product Awards. The awards not only address creativity and innovation but also leadership in green/environmental product development. This year the list of Sequoia winners included two Italian companies. Biesse America with its Viet HP Sanding Pad which with a patented technology offers the highest precision and quality of sanding along with increased abrasive belt life of up to 30%. And SCM Group North America with its Stefani ONE TOUCH edgebander which allows for running just-in-time production regardless of the parts needed. Stefani’s Smart Edge device enables edge changeover by inserting the start of the new panel edge at the side of the machine without the operator having to move from in front of the PC.
