Overall, there are more than 300m HC refrigerators running worldwide. Propane and CO2 are used in cascade supermarket refrigeration systems to provide high temperature and low temperature cooling for foodstuff. Blupura commented that it was vital to stay ahead of this trend. The European community has started to ban synthetic refrigerants, such as R134, which are commonly used in water cooler manufacture.
