The Italian Edge Presentation Addressed The Challenges Facing Global Sustainability Issues

On November 15th, 2011, during FABTECH 2011 (Chicago, November 14-17, 2011) which featured some of Italy's best-advanced machinery manufacturers and suppliers for the metalworking and fabricating industries (40 + Italian companies) served as the backdrop for the Chicago Office of the Italian Trade Commission, to take this opportunity to host "Italian Night @ FABTECH 2011" officially launching the Italian Trade Commission's (ITC) newest book in its series, The Italian Edge.

Volume Two, entitled "Technology for Sustainability", covers how Italian companies, including those in metal fabricating, make a difference in providing sustainable solutions within local markets.

The official program along with presenters was the following:

  • Pasquale Bova, Trade Commissioner of the ITC Chicago Office – Introduction and Presentation of "The Italian Edge: Technology for Sustainability";
  • Alessandro Motta, Consul General of Italy in Chicago welcoming remarks;
  • Rodney G. Grover, Senior Fund Director of SME Education Foundation, US Partner Association for the Italian Machine Tool Technology Award;
  • Don Goodwin, Senior Director – North America, Cedar Technomics – Presentation on US Manufacturing and Energy Sectors;
  • Gianfranco Cabonato, CEO and President of Prima Power which was featured in the first volume of "The Italian Edge" series "Technology for Excellence".

The event gathered the support from the following partners:

In attendance were owners and representatives from a few of the many Italian companies featured in the second edition, such as DAVI and SALVAGNINI.

The event had in attendance leading local government trade agencies, clean technology associations and institutions, US manufacturers along with industry media.

The following evening (November 16th), the Italian Trade Commission meet with high profile publications at an exclusive dinner event to discuss further promotion of the book via their respective publications.
