Italian Woodworking Machinery: State of the Industry Report 2013

The national Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers' association ACIMALL recently published its Annual Report for 2013. The report provides an overview of the Italian woodworking machinery industry and analyzing in a a wider contex - both import and export figures of all major global competitors (Germany, the United States, China, Austria and Taiwan).

The report – produced by ACIMALL's Studies and Promotion Office in Italian and English version – will become widely available to major organizations within the industry worldwide and available to anyone individaul who wishes to consult it. The report can be downloaded in PDF format…

University of Guelph Students Awarded the Italian Packaging Technology Awards 2014 for Canada

Matthew James and Yin Li, graduate PHD students at the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph, in Ontario, were the two Canadian recipients of the Italian Packaging Technology Awards (IPTA) 2014.  The IPTA program is organized by the Italian Trade Commission, through its Machines Italia project, in collaboration with UCIMA, the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association.

Distinguished U.S. Students Win Italian Technology Award to Study Advanced Engineering in Italy

The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is pleased to announce the U.S. winners of the eleventh Italian Packaging Technology Award (IPTA) and fifth Italian Machine Tool Technology Award (IMTTA). ITA will honor recipients for their outstanding theses submission and academic scholarship with a one/two-week, respectively, educational trip to Italy commencing June 29, 2014.

Italy Invests in the US: Italy’s Bonfiglioli USA to Expand Hebron, KY Operations

Bonfiglioli USA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A., the Bologna, Italy-based leader in power transmission for mobile and self-propelled machines, announced that it will be expanding its Hebron, KY operations in Q4 2014. The expansion will include the progressive addition of new production lines of planetary gearboxes for mobile machinery to support the construction, mining, agricultural and forestry industries. The expansion will create dozens of new jobs for the northern Kentucky region.

Italy’s DAVI technology used for North American Oil Operations

Italy's Davi has sold two of their machines to take part in EXXON Mobil's sand oil extraction project here in North America. The machines are a profile bending machine and a plate roll. The machines will be used to make parts for the extraction of oil from sandy deposits.

Trevi Group Takes Copenhagen!

Over the past two years, Copenhagen residents have been witness to a large fleet of piling rigs and hydromills from Italy's Trevi Group which are playing a critical role in the construction of a new, underground metro line, “Cityringen". The construction sites are wedged in between residences, narrow streets, and historic buildings throughout the heart of the city.
