ASSOCOMAPLAST Takes the Lead in Producing PLA Using Alternative Energies for Reactive Extrusion

In December 2012, Italy's trade association, ASSOCOMAPLAST started to take part in the InnoREX Project along with the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT, Pfinztal (Germany), a project which is funded by the European FP7 Program. Along with ASSOCOMAPLAST, the project consortium consists of twelve partners, including seven enterprises, two research centers and two universities. 


START PLAST: Innovation and Budding Enterprises to Relaunch Italian Industry

The satellite show START PLAST – founded on the idea of creating a space dedicated to new and innovative enterprises paralleling the main fair populated by established, historical firms – will be held during PLAST 2015 on 5-9 May in the Fiera Milano fairgrounds in Rho, coinciding with the inaugural week of EXPO 2015.


Italian Plastic Machinery: State of the Industry Report 2014

Semester of growth for Italian import-exports of plastics and rubber machinery! The analysis by Assocomaplast (the Italian trade association, belonging to CONFINDUSTRIA, which groups together some 160 machinery manufacturers) of the ISTAT figures for Italian foreign trade for the first half of this year shows a rise in import-exports of rubber and plastics equipment, compared to January-June 2013.



World Maker Faire 2014, the most important show this year, dedicated to advanced and 3D printing manufacturing will take place from September 20-21, 2014 at the New York Science Hall in New York City.


ICMA Installs Two Turnkey Compounding Lines for Global Appliance Manufacturer

ICMA San Giorgio SPA (Milan, Italy) has designed and installed two complete compounding systems for a major global appliance manufacturer. The new lines produce mineral-filled compounds at high volume through ICMA high-efficiency co-rotating extruders with integral material handling, dosing and cutting units.


Italy Invests in the US: Italy’s INglass Srl to invest $17.6 Million in Byron Center, MI facility

Italy's INglass Srl, an Italian maker of molds for the plastics industry broke ground recently on its first facility in America, which will be located in Byron Center, Michigan with a $17.6 million investment. The facility looks to employ over 100 workers in the next four years.

Italian Textile Machinery State of the Industry Report Second Quarter 2014: Foreign Orders Are Up!

For the second quarter of 2014, the textile machinery orders index elaborated by the research department at ACIMIT (the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers), recorded a 6% increase compared to the previous quarter, for an absolute value of 86 points (basis: 2010=100). Orders of textile machinery for the second quarter of the year showed an increase, thanks to demand from foreign markets. According to Raffaella Carabelli, President of ACIMIT, “Good results from abroad, but we’re still concerned about poor domestic demand.”
