Italy’s Trade Association for Plastic & Rubber Machinery Elects New President & Posts Positive Signs

The general Assembly of ASSOCOMAPLAST - which took place on June 19, 2015 at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan – elected as Chairman for 2015-2017 Mr Alessandro Grassi, General Manager of FRIGOSYSTEM srl (manufacturer of chillers and thermoregulators). He nominated Andrea Franceschetti - International Sales Manager of GEFRAN spa (manufacturer of measuring and control equipment) - as Vice-Chairman of the Association.

PLAST breaks up the 3 years cycle with the next PLAST being held September 26 - 30, 2017, instead of May 8 - 12, 2018. The show will then continue on its usual triennal frequency. Italy Invests in the US: Italy’s ICMA San Giorgio Opens Lab-line Testing Unit in Monroe (Michigan)

Italy's ICMA San Giorgio (Milan, Italy), In collaboration with a leading European producer of cutting systems, has launched a lab-line unit for testing in Monroe, Michigan, USA (near Detroit). This pelletizing and compounding line unit, equipped with ICMA’s 50 mm diameter co-rotating extruder from the MCM high torque family, is particularly versatile and covers a wide range of compounds including techno-polymers and filled compounds.


State of the Industry Report: Plastic Machinery Export Sales Were Up In 2014 By 8%!

Progress in exports maintained a constant pace to the end of the year, sustaining Italian machinery manufacturers in a period where the domestic market showed only timid signs of recovery in the very recent months. In effect, although there was a noticeable increase in purchases from abroad – on the order of eight percentage (8%) points over the entire year, in statistical terms – the propensity towards investment by converters remained limited into the final quar-ter of 2014.
