The Italian Trade Commission has now established a special "Task Force Mechatronics" (TFM) in Stockholm to encourage business opportunities and favour networking between innovative Italian and Nordic companies active in this field. After scouting for potential partnerships partnerships in the Baltic area, TFM identified 27 industrial automation engineering researchers from the best qualified universities of Sweden and Finland like the Universities of Stockholm, Göteborg, Jönköping, Halmstad, Skövde, Tampere, Helsinki. With their participation, TFM then arranged a week-long "project research road show" in Italy that took place from the 11th to the 16th of October 2010 in three well-known Italian mechatronic clusters—Turin, Vicenza and Pisa.
