Stam SpA

Sectors:
Region:
Veneto
Overview:

STAM was established in 1963 in Ponzano Veneto (Treviso), Italy. Today the company is a recognized European and Worldwide leader in the building of sheet metal working machines starting from coil material, rollforming in particular. The company employs 130 people and has additional facilities in Spain (Valle Perfiladoras) and Brazil (Stam do Brasil). More than 1000 machines and lines have been delivered and installed. The customers list virtually includes all metal forming industries (building and construction, automotive, logistics, infrastructure, energy...).

Unlike most of the competitors, at STAM every stage of the machines production is managed in-house, including mechanical, electrical and software design, building (i.e. fabricating, machining, assembling and painting), and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic testing.

Tight quality control at all stages is the hallmark of STAM products. Also, STAM’s production method ensures a quick response when spare parts are required. After all the production steps have been completed, STAM provides full comprehensive service for installation at the customer’s site, commissioning and after sales service. After sales service to the customer is given particularly strong attention by STAM. A close relationship for good co-operation is established since the beginning to ensure correct identification of the customer’s requirements in all aspects including also the layout possibilities of the installation site, and the balance between technology and costs.

STAM leadership is particularly strong in the following fields:

Rollforming lines: In addition to standard machines, STAM has developed a wide range of specialized lines offering appropriate levels of automation and flexibility, thus meeting the just-in-time requirements of many industries. Recently STAM introduced an innovative Rollforming machine for producing variable section profiles, with a fast setup and high production rates: previously this was only possible with very rigid production processes.

Cut-to-length lines: STAM has continuously developed its range of coil cut-up lines, that now includes equipment for material up to 20 mm thick as well as equipment for working high tensile steel. In co-operation with big players of the automotive market, in the last years STAM has also supplied a number of blanking lines dedicated to parts for cars and trucks.

Continuous product development has been STAM‘s policy since the beginning: today the company employs a team of more than 20 design engineers, including mechanical, electrical and electronic specialists. STAM invests in keeping up with the state-of-the-art technology and in research. Due to this commitment STAM has become more and more competitive, maintaining its leadership in the global market.
